Daniel's Fast & Daily Devotional
Daniel's Fast &
Daily Devotional
What is a Fast?
Fasting is more than a diet; it’s an intentional decision to say no to yourself and yes to God. When we choose to listen to only Christian content (music, podcasts), we’re focusing on God and His goodness.
In addition, we’re reading the Bible and praying so God can guide us through the new year. Use this time to seek Him and His plans for your life.
Week 1: Music
Welcome to 21 Days of Advance! We’re kicking off the year with intentional prayer and fasting, starting with music.
Put away the secular tunes and find your Christian jam for the next 7 days. Need help? Check out our curated playlists!
Week 2: Food
Great job completing the first week! It’s time for the Daniel’s Fast, setting aside meat and sweets for fruits and vegetables over the next 7 days.
If you’re vegetarian or already have a restricted diet, we encourage you to fast something else. This can be watching sports, social media, video games, or anything that takes time away from God.
Why did Daniel Fast?
In Daniel 1:8-16, Daniel and a few others chose to not eat the Babylonian king’s food because it would defile them. Rather than enjoy wine and meat, Daniel chose to focus on what God desired and had taught the Hebrew people.
Fasting is about putting God first, and us second. Take time to read His word and pray over the year.

Week 3: Prayer
21 Days of Advance is almost over! We hope you’ve been enjoying the devotionals and spending quality time with God.
This week we’ll be coming together for God Talk, corporate prayer Monday – Friday starting at 6pm. Come straight from work as we gather to prayer over the new year and what God has planned.
What Now?
These 21 days were a step toward everything God has for you in 2026 and onward. Keep spending time in the Word and praying for guidance throughout the year.
And guess what? Fasting isn’t a one-time event! If you’re seeking God for a specific need, take a day or two to just listen to Christian music or avoid the TV. Put God first and seek His answers for the moment.
